About us - Our Program
In May of 2002, Coach Caruthers and his wife, Kim, started Championship Speed & Strength, Inc., with programs based on LeBaron's 20+ years experience as a Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. He passes along to the young athletes in Central Texas what he learned with professional and collegiate athletes: "Speed Wins!" And he is still learning today from coaches and athletes around the country.

At Championship Speed & Strength, each athlete is getting the same level of training found at any major collegiate program and professional sports team. In fact, many athletes at CS&S have training techniques in their workout programs which Coach Caruthers learned from two study tours in Moscow, Russia and Leipzig, Germany.

CS&S is designed to help young athletes achieve their athletic goals and as a result, to have great lifelong memories of their experiences with athletics.

CS&S also wants to help instill confidence in young athletes, raise their self-esteem, and encourage them to accomplish what they thought was impossible.

About Waco Sports Academy with Championship Speed and Strength
About us - Our Program
When Coach Caruthers was watching his sons, Chase and Lane, play baseball at the ages of 7 and 9, he realized how many of their teammates and players on the other teams had not been taught how to run and sprint. He remembered how he wished he had been able to get help when he was a young athlete- help with how to run faster, get stronger, jump higher, and throw farther so he could have had more success as a growing athlete. He decided to create those opportunities for young athletes through Championship Speed & Strength.
